I couldn't of put it better myself. When I first played it in early 2008, I loved the way the trees swayed and the variety of plant-life. It was really nice cause every game I had played on my brand new PS3 had been in an urban setting.

You're totally right about the characters as well though. Great article :)

I agree 100% about Uncharted 2. Curiously, I couldn't get behind the first one so much. The three main characters were great, but it still felt as if 80% of it was a passable, yet forgettable Gears of War clone. The second game had a lot more variety to the gameplay and environments, not to mention that the combat setpieces were much better too.

Good write up.

Meh, to me Uncharted looked like some Tomb Raider meets Just Cause or something. I enjoyed Just Cause 2, and figured I wouldn't get Uncharted if it's gona be similar to a game I already have. But what you've told us about the game, it may be worth checking out. :)

Uncharted 2 was the first game I bought after I picked up a PS3 (mostly to watch Blu-ray and stream Netflix). It took me about 3 weekends to get through the entire game. I went back and played it again a few weeks later, and thought I would trade it in for another game. Then, I discovered the multiplayer. It's impressive. I'm sure I have spent more time in multiplayer than I did with the actual singleplayer game, and I just played some of the modes for the first time this past weekend. It's amazing how much content comes with this one game.

Like you I played them basically back to back while the first had its flaws in combat (bullet sponge baddies anyone?), it made up for in story and presentation.

The only thing I don't like about uncharted is that every game nowadays feels they need a "Nathan Drake" esk character, its frustrating.
